Join our peer review network
Interested in being a peer reviewer for Metrilineal? We’re looking for subject-matter and lived-experience experts on a variety of issues that impact women’s health. Providing peer review support is a simple, low-commitment way to share your knowledge and contribute meaningfully to discourse on health research and policy in Oklahoma.
Our review process has two stages: an internal review with a member of our team and an external review with a field subject matter expert with a relevant background. The external review is double-blind, which means you will not know who the author is, and they won’t know who you are.
As an external reviewer, you’ll be provided with an anonymized manuscript, abstract, and rubric. We ask that you read the manuscript, fill out the rubric, and provide open commentary within two weeks of receipt. This open feedback can include notes on topic relevance, flow, recommendations, and anything else you think would meaningfully contribute to the piece.
Afterward, the author is given the opportunity to make revisions and resubmit the paper.
We do not anticipate asking individual reviewers to engage with more than two pieces a year. Currently, we publish pieces digitally as they are approved and biannually in a print edition of the journal. Due to the size of our network and frequency of publication, the lift on individual reviewers will be small.
Still interested? Please fill out the form below, and our editorial team will be in touch soon. We appreciate you.
