The bill failed in committee citing concerns of charging women with premeditated murder, which carries penalties up to death. The chair stated that while he is against abortion, he does not believe SB 456 is a reasonable path to end the practice.
Labels almost all abortions as murder, except when needed to save the mother’s life or if it’s due to a miscarriage. Allows both the doctor and the mother to be charged.
