The final version added new applicable services that can be covered by the Choosing Childbirth Act/Fund.
The general provision that cover maternal health was not affected. Covered services can be accessed 3 years from childbirth (an increase of 1 year).
Telehealth was added amongst the added services.
Grants the Department of Health direct access to the funds to disburse to private organizations circumventing the need for a granting organiztaion.
SB 538 allows the State Department of Health to award grants, under the Choosing Childbirth Act, directly to both private organizations and grant-supervising entities, who must then reimburse the private organizations. The measure expands the scope of reimbursement services agencies and programs may provide to receive funding under the Choosing Childbirth Act.
