  1. Questions were asked if the bill takes away the right to a fair trial and the chance for the accused to face their accuser. The author explained that it lets survivors give testimony without having to see their abuser in court over and over. He also said the testimony still has to follow perjury rules, and other limits on hearsay already exist in law.

  2. Allows statements from domestic abuse survivors to be used as evidence in domestic abuse cases if made within one week of the incident. Statements may be admitted in pre- and post-trial proceedings, including probation hearings.
